SCREENING PROCESS

Bachelor’s Completion

Once we have received your completed application and two official sealed copies of your transcript from each college or university that you have attended in the past we will review your application and make an admission decision.

Master of Science in Education with Certification

Immediately after we receive your application, we will begin the screening process.

As a first step, you will be asked to complete the Teaching Style Inventory. The Inventory is designed to provide us with more information about your disposition to become an effective teacher.

The second step will begin when we have received your transcripts and letters of recommendation. These materials will be reviewed along with your application and you may be requested to attend a group interview.

If you are selected, you will be asked to participate in a group interview. At this time, you will be asked to perform a series of tasks designed to determine your ability to work effectively in the classroom. You may also be asked to participate in a one-on-one interview either in person or over the phone.

We will then consider all information in your file including the following:

•  Application
•  Transcripts
•  Letters of recommendation
•  Test scores
•  Inventory results
•  Interview results
•  Personal interview results
•  Personal Statement (on application)

This data will determine your eligibility to participate in the Program.

Master of Science in Education for Licensed Teachers

The screening process for licensed teachers is the same as the process for certification candidates except that the group and personal interviews are not required.
